MTennis Inks Bernard Tefel to 2013-14 Class

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Head coach Mario Rincon has announced the signing of Bernard Tefel to a National Letter of Intent to play men’s tennis for the University of Miami.
“We are very excited about Bernard joining our program,” said Rincon. “He’s a crafty lefty with great shot making ability, and he will only continue to improve in every aspect of the game. We are happy that he decided to stay in his hometown to represent the Canes, and we know that he will be a great student-athlete for us.”
A four-star recruit from Miami, Fla., Tefel holds a 20-7 record against four-star players and is 17-0 against players ranked three-star and below.
“We are excited and fortunate that Bernard will be joining us at the University of Miami next year,” said assistant coach Mark Dickson. “Many college coaches recognize his potential and he was recruited by some strong programs. Bernard is an extremely nice young man and an excellent player with the mind-set to improve. I like his competitiveness as well as his ability to attack and neutralize his opponents. He will contribute to our program right away.”
The University of Miami opens the spring tennis season in early January. For complete results and more information about Miami men’s tennis, check out the Canes on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MiamiHurricanesMensTennis and follow the team on Twitter @CanesMensTennis.
