Monday ProCanes Report: Moss Hauls in Two
The Monday Morning ProCanes report will weed through all the NFL highlights and news to bring you the information you care about the most… what the former University of Miami Hurricanes did during the week prior. It was another prolific week for veteran ProCane wideouts, as Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne and Andre Johnson all enjoyed impressive Week Seven performances.
Santana Moss (Washington Redskins) – three catches, 67 yards, two touchdowns
The 12th-year wideout maintained his steady start to the 2012 season, hauling in what appeared to be the gamewinning touchdown from RGIII for his second score of the day with less than two minutes remaining. Despite a late comeback from the Giants, the Redskins relied on Moss and fellow ProCane Leonard Hankerson for much of their offensive production Sunday. The duo combined for nine catches and 137 yards.

Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) – nine catches, 86 yards
Though he did not find the back of the endzone, the Texans’ Pro Bowl wide receiver managed to move his way up in the NFL record books in his team’s win. A week after surpassing the 10,000-yard mark for his career, Johnson became only the third player to register at least 25 games with nine catches and 80+ yards. With another stellar performance, the Miami, Fla. native, who trails only Jerry Rice (28) and Marvin Harrison (28) in the category, helped guide his team to a 43-13 blowout victory.
Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) – six catches, 73 yards
Though quarterback Andrew Luck found the endzone twice in his team’s 17-13 win, Reggie Wayne helped key another strong day for Indianapolis. The 12th-year wideout registered game highs with six catches and 73 yards, solidifying his spot at No. 16 in all-time receiving yards (12,374). More important than his team’s win, the Colts’ head coach and former Hurricane assistant Chuck Pagano was released from the hospital and watched the win from home.

Vince Wilfork (New England Patriots) – seven tackles
The Patriots’ Pro Bowl nose tackle helped keep the talented Jets’ offense in check during New England’s 26-23 win over its division rival New York. The ninth-year pro registered a season-best nine tackles in the game, and played a key role in forcing a fumble for a safety during a handoff from Mark Sanchez to running back Shonn Greene. With the win, the Patriots moved to the top of the AFC East Division at 4-3.
