Monday ProCanes Report: Wayne Goes Off in Win
The Monday Morning ProCanes report will weed through all the NFL highlights and news to bring you the information you care about the most… what the former University of Miami Hurricanes did during the week prior. Veteran wide receivers and former Miami teammates Reggie Wayne and Santana Moss helped extend the “ProCanes streak” to ten consecutive regular season weeks (and 159 of the past 160) with dominant performances, while Frank Gore registered his 31st career 100-yard game in a big San Francisco win.
Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) – 13 catches, 212 yards, 1 touchdown
With arguably his best performance ever in tribute to head coach Chuck Pagano, Wayne helped guide the Colts to an upset win over the visiting Green Bay Packers in Indianapolis. The 12th-year veteran hauled in a personal-best 13 catches on the day, including a spectacular one-handed grab and the game-winning touchdown in the final minute of play. With his 212 yards Sunday, Wayne moved up three spots into 17th place all-time in NFL receiving yards, passing Derrick Mason, Hines Ward and Charlie Joiner.

Santana Moss (Washington Redskins) – 2 catches, 80 yards, 1 touchdown
After 12 years of dominance spanning nearly 10,000 career yards, speedy Santana Moss is the last receiver to leave alone in an open field. But the Falcons did exactly that Sunday, as the wideout slipped by the defense en route to a 77-yard touchdown. Moss, who recorded his 500th catch as a member of the Redskins, was the first ProCane to score in Week Five on the first career touchdown for rookie quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Frank Gore (San Francisco 49ers) – 14 carries, 106 yards, 1 touchdown
The eighth-year running back maintained his strong start to the 2012 season with his 31st career 100-yard game in San Francisco’s 45-3 rout of the Buffalo Bills. Gore’s 106-yard performance moved him to sixth in the NFL in rushing yards with 432, while his one-yard touchdown plunge helped opened the door to the 49ers’ second straight victory. The veteran bruiser, who averaged over seven yards per carry Sunday, is on pace for the sixth 1,000-yard season of his career.
