Women's Tennis Unveils Fall Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami women’s tennis program has announced the team’s 2012 fall schedule.
Once again the 2011-12 University of Miami women’s tennis season proved to be a successful one. For the fourth consecutive year under the guidance of head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews, the Hurricanes found themselves in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tennis Championships
Once again the Hurricanes will endure a fall full of still competition throughout the nation,as well as competition in professional tournaments.
Miami will open their fall season on September 14 at Duke for the Fab 4 Tournament, before participating in the USTA Pro Circuit Tournament in Amelia Island, Fla. the following weekend starting September 22.
The Canes will open October with 14 consecutive days of play. They begin with the week long Riviera Women’s All-American Tennis Championships beginning on October 1, before heading to Troy, Ala. for the USTA Pro Circuit Tournament which is slated to begin October 8. Miami will round out two consecutive weeks of play when they host the Miami Invite beginning on Friday, October 5.
The Canes will conclude a busy October when they travel to Tampa for the USTA Regional Championships which are set to begin on October 19. The Hurricanes will finish their fall schedule in the beginning of November when they return to Tampa for the Florida Collegiate Championships.
Newcomers Deborah Suarez, Kelsey Laurente, Nicolle Stracer, and Amberg, Germany native Stephanie Wagner will all look to make an impact for the Hurricanes this fall.
