Lillard Named to Top Drawer Team of the Week
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — After registering a pair of shutouts during the WVU 90 Minute Classic, sophomore goalkeeper Emily Lillard was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Team of the Week.
Lillard recorded four saves in Friday’s 1-0 overtime win over Pittsburgh and another four saves in Sunday’s scoreless draw against host West Virginia. The Hurricanes (3-2-1) have relied on the steady play of the transfer keeper, who made the switch from Arkansas to Miami prior to the 2012 season.
The sophomore, who ranks eighth in the Atlantic Coast Conference with an 0.56 goals against average, has allowed only three goals in her five starts this season. Her 3.40 saves per game leads all ACC goalkeepers, while her .850 save percentage ranks her sixth in the conference.
The Hurricanes return to Cobb Stadium for Friday night’s match-up against visiting Idaho. First kick is set for 7 p.m.
