Women's Golf Unveils 2012-13 Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Four in-state tournaments, including February’s Hurricane Invitational, headline the Miami Hurricanes women’s golf 2012-13 schedule released Wednesday.
“We’re really excited about beginning the season,” third-year head coach Patti Rizzo said. “We have a lot of young players on the team and they’ve been playing well this summer, hopefully we can continue that trend into the season.”
Returning this year will be two sophomores that made noise around the collegiate golf scene last season – Rika Park and Leticia Ras-Anderica. Both Park and Ras-Anderica punched their ticket to the 2012 NCAA Central Regional after enjoying exceptional seasons. Also returning is junior Carina Cuculiza, who will be the only upperclassman on the young squad.
Joining the team will be a talented freshmen class that includes Christina Ocampo, the 2011 Palm Beach Post Player of the Year, three-time Hillsborough All-County first-teamer Laura Hendee, and Lauren Riehle, who enters the fall season coming off two summer tournament victories.
