NEW YORK – The 33rd Annual Telly Awards, recognizing, among other production categories, web commercials, videos and films, honored HurricaneSports.com and 3Penny Films’ “Raising Canes” series with two medals of distinction.

“Raising Canes” earned bronze awards in two categories: Internet/Online Programs, Segments or Promotional Pieces – Sports, and Internet/Online Video – Documentary. The series, which documents the Hurricanes’ football team and its student-athletes on and off the field, was started in August 2011. “Raising Canes” has released over 50 episodes since its inception, all which tell the unique stories of the Hurricanes’ players, coaches, and staff with presentation of “behind-the-scenes” footage and exclusive interviews with various members of the team.

“Our success is a testament to the integrity and vision of Coach Al Golden and the athletic department,” said 3Penny Films Co-Founder Jess Atkinson. “Miami embraced the value of documenting their mission to restore and uphold the legacy of Hurricanes football.”
