CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 63 University of Miami men’s tennis team will hit the road on Fri., April 13 to take on No. 51 Virginia Tech on the final weekend of the regular season. The match will begin at 1 p.m. at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
Miami (8-10, 1-8) is looking to finish the regular season strong as they travel to Blacksburg, Va. to take on the Hokies. The team will try to rebound after falling to No. 5 Duke and No. 18 North Carolina last weekend.
Freshman Wilfredo Gonzalez and junior Marco Stancati were the highlights of the weekend as each earned victories against North Carolina. Gonzalez defeated Esben Hess-Olesen and Stancati defeated Oysten Steiro.
Virginia Tech (9-10, 5-4) enters the match after mixed results last weekend as they defeated No. 71 Clemson and lost to No. 60 Georgia Tech on Friday.
The Hokies are led by the No. 44 ranked singles player Luka Somen. He is also ranked No. 51 in the doubles rankings with his partner Corrado Delg’Incerti Tocci.
The Hurricanes will finish their regular season schedule on Sun., April 15 when they take on Virginia at 11 a.m.
