Nov. 9, 2010
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami Athletics Department announced that it will not renew the contract of women’s soccer head coach Tricia Taliaferro and will immediately begin a national search for a new head coach.
Taliaferro amassed a 77-85-14 record in nine seasons at the helm of the UM program. In 2010, the ‘Canes were 10-8-1. UM finished ninth in the ACC regular season standings and did not qualify for the ACC Postseason Championship.
“I want to thank Coach Taliaferro for her nine years of devotion to the Miami soccer program,” said UM Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt. “We have made positive strides in many areas. Our standard is athletic excellence at the national level and we will begin the search for new leadership immediately.”
