Bianca Eichkorn Set to Open Play at ITA Indoor Championships

FLUSHING, N.Y. – University of Miami All-America senior Bianca Eichkorn will open play at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships Thursday when she faces Notre Dame’s Kristy Frilling in a first round singles match at USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Eichkorn, who is 6-2 this fall and ranked 14th nationally by the ITA, is one of 32 singles players set to compete on the women’s side of the fall’s most prestigious indoor tournament.
Eichkorn is the third-winningest student-athlete in singles play in program history having tallied 106 wins in her storied career. Last season, the native of Tengen, Germany went 31-5 overall and 23-0 in dual match in singles to earn All-America honors.
The winner of Thursday’s match between Eichkorn and Frilling will play the winner of a match between Aeriel Ellis of Texas and Zoe De Bruycker of UNC.
