CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami spent a large chunk of Thursday working on special teams and kickoff coverage.

Virginia leads the ACC with an average of 24.0 yards per return and two kickoff touchdowns this season.  The Cavaliers top return man is senior Raynard Horne, who is averaging a 26.7 yards per return.

Miami is rated 11th in the league in kickoff coverage and Coach Shannon spoke extensively about the challenge during his weekly Tuesday press conference.

Weekly Injury Update
Coach Shannon and the UM Training Staff released the weekly injury report, which is listed below.  As expected quarterback A.J. Highsmith is questionable and Joel Figueroa is out for the game.

Senior offensive tackle Orlando Franklin is not listed on the injury report.

The `Canes may be without defensive tackle Josh Holmes, who is listed as doubtful. Holmes missed the Florida State and Duke game, before returning to action in UM’s resounding 33-10 win over North Carolina. Holmes has started every game – five – that he has played this season.
