Getting to Know Durand Scott

From start to finish, this New Yorker made an impression as a rookie in 2009-10. From dishing out 10 assists without a turnover to tie an ACC freshman record in his collegiate debut, to pouring in a career-high 29 points in his first trip to the Dean Dome, to averaging 14.7 points on 48.6 percent shooting from the field, with 5.0 boards and 3.0 assists in three postseason games en route to ACC All-Tournament First Team honors. Talented guard Durand Scott – UM’s first All-ACC Rookie Team pick, also averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in a pair of games versus eventual national champion Duke.

After a debut like that, Hurricanes fans can’t wait to see what the sophomore has in store for us in 2010-11.
