Sept. 19, 2010
CORAL GABLES, Fla.– The University of Miami football team is ranked 19th in both major college football polls released Sunday. The ‘Canes, who had a bye this past week, will travel to Pittsburgh on Thursday to face the Panthers in a nationally-televised game on ESPN.
Ranked 17th last week by both the USA Today/coaches and AP polls, Miami dropped two spots as big wins by Arizona and Stanford propelled them ahead of the ‘Canes.
Miami(1-1) remains the lone ranked ACC team.
The Top 5 teams in the country remained the same in both polls: Alabama, Ohio State, Boise State, Texas and TCU in the coaches poll and Alabama, Ohio State, Boise State, TCU and Oregon in the AP poll.
Kickoff for Miami’s game against Pitt at Heinz Field Thursday night is set for 7 p.m.
