Men's Tennis Match Versus North Carolina Cancelled
April 18, 2010
Coral Gables, Fla. – The No. 47 University of Miami men’s tennis match versus No. 19 North Carolina scheduled for Sunday at noon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center has been cancelled due to continuing rain. Inclement weather is projected for Coral Gables through Monday.
The Hurricanes (10-10, 4-6 ACC), winners of four straight – including Friday’s exciting 4-3 comeback win over No. 14 Duke, and were planning to honor their three seniors – Barnabas Carrega, Hector Nieto and David Simon – during Sunday’s regular-season finale versus the Tar Heels (17-5,7-3).
It marks the second time in the last three seasons these two teams have been unable to meet due to rainy conditions. Miami defeated North Carolina, 4-3, in Chapel Hill last year.
The Hurricanes return to competition this week at the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament in Cary, N.C. from Apr. 22-25.
