Antoine Allen to Transfer

March 31, 2010

CORAL GABLES, FLA. – University of Miami freshman guard Antoine Allen has elected to transfer and will pursue basketball at another school, announced Miami head coach Frank Haith.

Allen, a 6-1 guard from Baltimore, Md., averaged 2.9 points and 0.8 rebounds, while converting 41.7 percent from long range in 17 appearances in 2009-10. He was named to the All-ACC Academic Men’s Basketball Team.

“I appreciate Antoine’s efforts this season,” said Haith. “I support his decision to seek additional playing time with another program and I wish him well.”

The 2010-11 Hurricanes will return nine players, including four who started all three games in the ACC Tournament – Durand Scott, Reggie Johnson, DeQuan Jones and Julian Gamble, in addition to the ACC’s three-point field goal percentage leader in Adrian Thomas.
