Coral Gables, Fla. – The No. 39 University of Miami men’s tennis team opens its Atlantic Coast Conference slate versus No. 19 Florida State on Saturday at Noon in the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. Admission is free.

The Hurricanes (5-2, 0-0 ACC) ride a four-match win streak into Saturday’s showdown, while the Seminoles (8-1, 2-0) have won six consecutive matches, including 5-2 wins over Boston College and Georgia Tech in conference play. Miami leads the all-time series 45-12, but fell in the last meeting between the programs, 4-3, in Tallahassee on Feb. 28, 2009.

Miami duo Christian Blöcker and David Simon (9-4), who has won three-straight matches to improve to 5-2 in dual-match competition, enter this week’s doubles rankings at No. 60, while FSU has three singles players ranked among the nation’s Top 100.

“We are excited to open our conference schedule at home,” said Miami head coach Mario Rincon. “FSU is a talented team and we are looking forward to the challenge.”

Following Saturday’s match, the Hurricanes play back-to-back ACC road matches, at Clemson on Sat., March 13, and then at Georgia Tech on Sun., March 14.
