No. 23 Men's Tennis Hosts Clemson in Saturday's ACC Opener

Coral Gables, Fla. – The No. 23 University of Miami men’s tennis team (2-2) plays host to No. 63 Clemson (2-2) on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. in the ACC opener for both teams at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

The match will be broadcast online by ACC Select, which allows fans to view events from around the conference for a low fee.

Saturday’s competition marks the third match of the week for the Hurricanes, following Sunday’s 5-2 win over No. 46 Denver in the ITA Kickoff Classic in Malibu and Wednesday’s exhibition play versus the U.S. Junior National Team.

“We are looking forward to opening our ACC schedule,” said head coach Mario Rincon. “Our conference is always among the best in the nation and we are excited about the challenge ahead of us. Clemson is a talented team and will be ready for us on Saturday.

Freshman Ignacio Taboada (14-5) and sophomore All-American Carl Sundberg (6-3) lead the Hurricanes heading into Saturday, with both holding perfect 3-0 singles records in dual match play.

The Hurricanes will then take on Penn in non-conference action at home on Sun., Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. Admission is free to all regular-season matches at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center, located on the University of Miami campus.
