Viola & McClinton Named Muscle Milk Student-Athletes of the Week

Coral Gables, FL (www.hurricanesports.com) — – Sophomore diver Brittany Viola and junior guard Jack McClinton have been chosen the Muscle Milk Student-Athletes of the Week for March 17-23.

Viola became just the third women’s diver in UM history to win an NCAA Championship when she was victorious in the platform event at the 2008 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships at Ohio State on Saturday, March 22. Viola, who had previously finished seventh in the one-meter springboard event at the Championships, finished the competition with a score of 362.60.

McClinton scored 32 of his 38 points in the second half as the Hurricanes overcame a 32-27 deficit at intermission to defeat St. Mary’s 78-64 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday, March 21. The game marked the first NCAA appearance by the men’s basketball team since 2002.
