Aug. 24, 2007
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – – The University of Miami Hurricanes worked through their final practice of the week Friday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields. Miami will take Saturday off.
“The guys had fun today,” UM head coach Randy Shannon said. “They had a lot of excitement. We practiced hard. We worked on a lot of special teams. We concentrated a little more on Marshall. Overall it was good.”
The Hurricanes will practice once over the next three days. UM is slated to next practice on Sunday. Miami’s first practice of the game week is Tuesday.
Friday, the Hurricanes continued their usual practice routine working for nearly two hours. Shannon said he and his staff have still not made a decision at punt returner, where several players are auditioning for the spot.
Shannon also said freshman running back Lee Chambers returned for the entire practice. “We have a lot of guys there,” Shannon said when asked about the running back situation. “We have a lot of depth, which is good for us.’
Shannon also said defensive linemen Josh Holmes and Dwayne Hendricks were held out. Sophomore linebacker Colin McCarthy, defensive end Steven Wesley and center/guard A.J. Trump all practiced.
The Hurricanes will take Saturday off and practice again at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Greentree Athletic Fields.
