Vallverdu Repeats as All-ACC Academic Team Selection

Coral Gables, Fla. – University of Miami sophomore Daniel Vallverdu (Valencia, Venezuela) was among 21 student-athletes – including eight repeat honorees – named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Tennis Team, announced ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and have maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.

Vallverdu wrapped up a successful sophomore campaign in 2007 earning his second All-America honors – and first in singles competition – after advancing to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Tournament. He finished the season ranked 34th in the country with a 26-10 record and was a repeat member of the All-ACC Men’s Tennis Team, as well as the All-ACC Academic Men’s Tennis Team.
