Women's Tennis Head to Alabama to Play in the ITA South Regional Tournament.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team is looking to continue strong fall play at the ITA South Regional Championships beginning October 18-22 on the campus of University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Miami will be represented in five singles matches, as well as two doubles teams.
After displaying solid results at the Riviera ITA All American Championships, Miami look to continue with a competitive edge and finishing strong.
Over the weekend, players from 20 teams will compete in the tournament, set to begin on Thursday with the first two rounds of the main draw singles. It will continue through Sunday when the finals for singles and doubles will take place.
In singles, Miami will be represented by Laura Vallverdu (10-1), Romy Farah (2-2), Caren Seeneuth (2-1), Emily Mowery (1-2), and Gina Sabatino (3-0).
Audrey Banada and Romy Farah (10-1) will compete in doubles teams, as well as Caren Seeneuth and Gina Sabatino (2-1). Banada and Farah are just coming off of an outstanding performance, competing all the way through six matches to go against the No.10 doubles team in the country.
Laura Vallverdu currently sits at 10-1 after coming off of a successful round of sixteen at the ITA Riviera Championships in Pasadena, California where she defeated the No. 3 ranked player in the first round of the main draw.
Junior Romy Farah will try to advance in the South Regional Championship as she did in the Gator Fall Classic, finishing (2-1).
Seeneuth, Mowery, and Sabatino will look to continue their outstanding performances in the tournament like they had begun earlier in the season at the Gator Fall Classic.
