Cohen Goes Down in Semifinal of Main Draw at the 2006 Riviera/ITA All American Championships

Pasadena, Calif. – No.1 ranked Audra Cohen loss today in the semifinal singles match of the main draw to advance to the championships in the 2006 Riviera/ITA All American Championships.

Cohen was defeated by No.19 Melanie Gloria of Fresno State, 6-3, 6-2 this afternoon. Gloria will play Sunday afternoon against No.12 Suzi Babos of California.

In doubles, the No.7 ranked Cohen and freshman Laura Vallverdu faced a duo from Oregon in a semifinals match this morning. Miami went on to defeat the No.12 Oregon team 8-2 in a consolation match, advancing to the championship round. Miami will face No.8 Kim Coventry and Carolina Escamilla from the University of Kentucky tomorrow in the final round of consolation.
