TULSA, Okla. – Miami’s Luigi D’Agord was forced to withdraw with an ankle injury just one point into a first-round match with Charlotte’s Roy Sichel Thursday at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships, effectively ending his stay at the tournament held at the University of Tulsa’s Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

D’Agord, ranked No. 3 nationally, entered as one of the tournament’s top seeds. Last season as a junior, D’Agord advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament which offers the first national singles and doubles titles of the collegiate tennis season.

Due to the injury, D’Agord and teammate Daniel Vallverdu were also forced to withdraw from the doubles competition.
