Hurricanes Complete Second Day of the All American Championship

PALASADES, Calif. – The university of Miami women’s tennis team wrapped up their second day of the 2006 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships.
Freshman Laura Vallverdu won the first and second rounds in singles defeating Amanda Granson of Duke University to advance to the third round of the prequalifying singles. In the first round, Vallverdu defeated Granson 6-3, 6-0, and won the second round 3-6, 7-6, 6-4. She will face Milena Kacher of Colombia University Sunday.
Audrey Banada will participate in the singles qualifying draw Tuesday, October 3rd.
Banada and Romy Farah advanced to the third round in the prequalifying doubles. The duo defeated Vanja Corovic and Courtney Zaufft 9-6. They will face Caitlin Collins and Sanaz Marand of North Carolina.
