UM Wraps up Play at Hurricane Fall Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Members of the Miami men’s tennis team wrapped up the final day of competition of the Hurricane Fall Invitational Sunday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center winning six singles matches. The Hurricanes conclude play at the three-day hidden dual invitational with an overall record of 11-1 in singles matches and 5-1 in doubles play.

Sunday against North Florida senior Josh Cohen celebrated his birthday by defeating Eduardo Pereira (7-6, 6-3).

Joining Cohen was Vivek Subramanian who upended Matias Sigal (7-6, 6-4), Josip Rupena who defeated Elad Gabay (6-3, 7-6), Hector Nieto who overtook Ben Smith (6-2, 6-2), Barnabas Carrega who upended Leonardo Gomes (6-0, 4-6, 7-5) and J.C. Whitner who defeated Yuiti Lopes (6-2, 6-0).

Members of the UM men’s tennis team will return to action next weekend, traveling to Waco Texas to take part in the Baylor Invitational.
