Applebaum and Cohen Fall in NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals

STANFORD, Calif. – Miami’s second-seeded doubles pair of senior Melissa Applebaum and sophomore Audra Cohen fell in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship Saturday afternoon at Stanford University’s Taube Tennis Center.

Applebaum and Cohen were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament by Fresno State’s seventh-ranked Lucia Sainz-Katharina Winterhalter pair, 7-6 (6), 6-4.

Miami’s second-ranked tandem suffered only its third loss of the year and ends its season with a 24-3 overall record and a 17-2 mark against ranked opponents.
