No. 14 Hurricanes Hit the Road for Matches at No. 8 Virginia and No. 54 Virginia Tech

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Fourteenth-ranked Miami will take to the road this weekend for a pair of ACC matches against No. 8 Virginia and No. 54 Virginia Tech. The Hurricanes face the Cavaliers Friday at 3 p.m. in Charlottesville and the Hokies Sunday at 2 p.m. in Blacksburg.
Second year head coach Mario Rincon and the Hurricanes are ranked 14th in the latest Fila/ITA Collegiate Rankings behind an overall record of 13-3 and a 5-2 mark in ACC play.
The Hurricanes lineup boasts two nationally ranked singles players in Luigi D’Agord (No. 5) and Josh Cohen (No. 72).
D’Agord, who climbed two spots from No. 7 since the last individual rankings released March 21, is 27-4 overall, 13-1 in dual play and 7-0 against ACC opponents this season.
After downing two top 10 opponents last weekend, including a victory over Duke’s Ludovic Walter, who is now ranked No. 4, D’Agord was named the ACC Performer of the Week. He is 15-3 against ranked players this season
Along with freshman Daniel Vallverdu, D’Agord is also ranked in doubles, sitting at No. 30.
Cohen is ranked 72nd behind a 20-5 overall record this season.
