No. 15 Miami Upends No. 45 Louisiana-Lafayette

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Hurricanes won four of six singles matches and all three doubles matches to down No. 45 Louisiana-Lafayette 5-2 Tuesday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Miami (8-2) began the afternoon sweeping all three doubles matches against the Ragin’ Cajuns (6-3).
At the No. 1 position, Luigi D’Agord and Daniel Vallverdu downed Evghenii Corduneanu and Amanjot Singh 8-2 while Vivek Subramanian and P.J. Passalacqua defeated Robin Ley and Shaun Ellison 8-5 on court No. 2. Josh Cohen and Eric Hechtman overtook Dusan Tabak and Arlen Domoney 8-1 at No. 3.
In singles, D’Agord – ranked No. 11 nationally – battled Corduneanu in a 6-7, 6-3, 6-3, three-set victory in the No. 1 spot.
Miami’s additional three points all came in straight-set victories as Cohen – ranked 60th – downed Singh 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2, Hechtman defeated Ellison 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 and Subramanian upended Domoney 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
The Hurricanes will return to action next Monday, hosting Tennessee at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center at 12 noon.
