Hurricanes Fall 5-2 to No. 15 Clemson

After surrendering the doubles point, No. 17 Miami dropped four of six singles matches to fall 5-2 on the road to No. 15 Clemson Saturday afternoon.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Miami’s (6-2, 1-1 ACC) two singles victories came from Luigi D’Agord – ranked No. 8 nationally – who downed Clemson’s (14-2, 1-0 ACC) Sander Koning, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 1 position and John Hoyes who defeated CU’s Clint Boling, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 5 spot.
In doubles, D’Agord and Daniel Vallverdu upened the Tigers’ Jarmaine Jankings and Clement Reix, 8-3, on the No. 1 court, but UM would fall at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to suffer it’s first conference loss of the season.
The Hurricanes travel to Atlanta Sunday to face No. 22 Georgia Tech at 1 p.m.
