10th Ranked Miami Hosts No. 21 Pepperdine Sunday

CORAL GABLES, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Fla. – The 10th ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team will welcome No. 21 Pepperdine to the NeilSchiffTennisCenter for a non-conference match Sunday, March 5 at noon. Admission is FREE. <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
The Hurricanes (7-3) return home fresh off a 7-0 sweep of in-state rival FloridaState in their Atlantic Coast Conference season opener Friday.
The Waves (8-1) head to Coral Gables having dropped its first match of the season, a 6-1 loss to No. 2 USC. They will first stop at No. 47 USF Saturday before heading south for their Sunday match against the Hurricanes.
Pepperdine is led by No. 26 Biana Dulbheru and the nation’s No. 42 ranked doubles team of Merve Asimgil and Sylvia Kosakowski.
The last time the two teams met was in 2004 when the Hurricanes topped the Waves, 5-2. Miami leads the all-time series 5-3.
