Audra Cohen Tabbed ACC Co-Performer of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla – University of Miami sophomore Audra Cohen was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Co-Performer of the Week, it was announced Monday.

Cohen, who earned ACC Performer of the Week honors once before, shares the honor with Clemson’s Carol Salge.

Cohen, ranked 13th in the nation, helped the Hurricanes post two wins over ranked opponents last week. In Miami’s 5-2 win over No. 30 Kentucky on Thursday, Cohen turned in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over the Wildcats’ 22nd ranked Kim Coventry. Cohen also teamed with senior Melissa Applebaum to take down Coventry and Carolina Escamilla in doubles action, 8-4.

In Miami’s 4-3 upset victory over No. 3 Texas on Sunday, Cohen defeated No. 51 Petra Dizdar, 7-6, 6-2. Cohen and Applebaum, who form the No. 22 doubles duo in the nation, topped Mia Marovic and Kendra Strohm, 8-4.

The Hurricanes open ACC action with they travel to Florida State Friday, March 3.
