Hurricanes Open Season at FIU Spring Classic

CORAL GABLES, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Fla.– The 10th ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team opens its season at the FIU Spring Classic that will take place Friday, Jan. 13 through Sunday, Jan. 15 at No. 30 FIU’s University Park courts. No. 53 Illinois and USF are also slated to compete.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
The three-day tournament will be conducted in a hidden dual format where no team score is allotted and results only count for individual records.
Miami will play everyday at 12:30 p.m. beginning with doubles and immediately followed by singles competition. The Hurricanes open the tournament against USF. On Saturday they will go against Illinois before facing cross-town rival FIU Sunday.

10:00 a.m. – Singles – (30) FIU vs. Illinois, doubles to follow
12:30 p.m. – Doubles – USF vs. (10) Miami, singles to follow
Saturday, Jan. 14
10:00 a.m. – Singles – (30) FIU vs. USF, doubles to follow
12:30 p.m. – Doubles (53) Illinois
Sunday, Jan. 15
10:00 a.m. – Singles – USF vs. (53) Illinois, doubles to follow
12:30 p.m. – Doubles- (30) FIU vs. (10) Miami, singles to follow
