D'Agord Advances at ITA Indoor Championships

COLUMBUS, OHIO – University of Miami junior Luigi D’Agord advanced to the round of 16 at the 2005 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships with a win on Thursday.

D’Agord, ranked 26th nationally in singles, defeated 35th-ranked Mark Barry of Penn State, in a close match, 6-7, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5), in Thursday’s first round.

D’Agord will face the tournament’s third seed, Lars Poerschke of Baylor Friday morning. Poerschke, ranked 25th nationally in singles, defeated Bryan Koniecko of host Ohio State, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 in the first round.
