The No. 6 match between UM freshman Ryan Waits and the Hokies’ Matthieu Leboucher finished next with Leboucher winning 6-3, 6-3.

Miami’s Hoyes was able to knock off Angel Diankov in straight-sets (6-2, 6-2) at No. 4 to put the Hurricanes within one point of the win, but Puranen downed Hechtman, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 to tie the match at three-all.

With the match point in balance, UM freshman Vivek Subramanain outlasted the Hokies’ Alexei Sergeev, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2, at No. 5 to clinch the 4-3 win for the Hurricanes.
