The Hurricanes, who are unbeaten at home this season, improve to 10-2 overall and remain 2-0 in the ACC with the win. The Terriers fell to 7-3 on the season.

Miami opened the match needing only one win for the doubles point after BU defaulted at No. 3 due to only having only five players on the roster. The Hurricanes took both matches, however, to claim the point. Junior Melissa Applebaum and freshman Caren Seenauth paired up at the No. 1 slot to defeat the Terriers’ Gina Sabatino/Monica Shepherd pair 8-2. Senior Staci Stevens and freshman Patricia Starzyk joined to upend Aimee Charest and Katarina Draganova 8-5 at No. 2 doubles.

Sophomore Emily Mowery, ranked 70th in the country, won her fifth-straight match with a 6-2, 6-0 straight set victory at the No. 3 position to start singles.

Seenauth and freshman Juliette Mavroleon also won in straight sets at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Seenauth topped Draganova, 6-0, 6-2 as Mavroleon downed Cheri Lapane with an identical 6-0, 6-2 score.

Starzyk gave up only three games en route to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Charest at the No. 2 slot before Stevens outlasted Sabatino in three sets 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 to close the match.

The Terriers also defaulted, due to lack of players, at No. 6 singles.

The Hurricanes return to action on Wednesday, March 16th for a key conference match against No. 11 North Carolina. Match time is set for 6:00 p.m. at the NeilSchiffTennisCenter.
