March 8, 2005
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Hurricanes will look for their first ACC victory Wednesday evening as they play host to 23rd-ranked Wake Forest at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center at 6 p.m.
Miami (7-2, 0-1 ACC) opened their inaugural ACC season Sunday with a disappointing 4-3 loss to fellow ACC-newcomer, Virginia Tech. UM is 6-1 all-time against the Demon Deacons (8-1, 0-0 ACC), who will open their conference schedule Wednesday against the Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes are led by junior Tim Krebs – ranked 64th nationally in singles – who has posted an overall record of 7-1 in dual play along with fellow classmate Eric Hechtman who boasts a perfect 8-0 mark in singles this spring.
Sophomore Josh Cohen was tabbed 87th in the latest ITA national singles rankings and has an overall record of 6-2 in dual play.
Wake Forest’s roster includes two nationally ranked singles players in Andrew Hamar (77) and Todd Paul (84).
