Bradley Ranked No. 2; Hurricanes 12th in ITA National Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami senior Megan Bradley has been ranked No. 2 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) National Rankings in singles while the Hurricanes are ranked 12th in the ITA Team Rankings, it was announced Tuesday.

Bradley, alongside sophomore Audrey Banada, is also ranked No. 8 in the ITA Doubles Rankings.

There are four Atlantic Coast Conference schools ranked in the Top 20, headlined by Clemson who sits a third behind Stanford (1) and Florida (2). Duke is the second highest ranked ACC team at No. 8, followed by the Hurricanes (12) and North Carolina (15).

Bradley compiled a 19-1 record during the fall season, which included Miami’s first ITA National Indoor Championship singles title. She also claimed the ITA South Region singles championship and teamed up with Banada to win the ITA South Region doubles championship. The tandem combined for a 9-1 doubles record during the fall season.

The Hurricanes finished last season ranked 15th after earning a 20-4 record and reaching the Elite Eight at the NCAA Team Championships for the first time since the 1986 season. The Hurricanes made their BIG EAST curtain call in grand fashion, winning their final BIG EAST Championship leaving the conference with eight conference titles.

Bradley finished last season ranked 5th in the final ITA National Poll after becoming the first Miami player to reach the semifinals in the NCAA Singles Tennis Championship since 1988, earning her All-American honors. During her run at the NCAA tournament, the Columbia, Missouri native became the Hurricanes’ all-time single season leader with a 37-6 record.

The Hurricanes open the 2005 season when they host instate rival Florida Atlantic, January 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

The next team rankings will be posted February 1st, followed by the singles/doubles rankings February 22nd.
