Krebs and Subramanian Sweep Doubles Field at Crimson Tide Fall Tournament

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Miami doubles tandem of junior Tim Krebs and freshman Vivek Subramanian downed Birmingham Southern’s Maurico Engler and Richard Turner, 8-3 Sunday to claim the Flight B title at the Crimson Tide Fall Tournament hosted by the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Krebs and Subramanian, playing as the Flight B No. 2 seed, opened play at the tournament Saturday, overtaking Colorado’s Marek Dvorak and Jan Zelezny, 8-3 in the quarterfinals following a first-round bye.

The UM duo would advance on to the semifinals Sunday morning where they would upend Southern Mississippi’s Reid Burgeois and Chris Rea, 9-8 (5) to earn birth into the final round.

In singles play, Krebs won the Flight A North Draw of the consolation bracket, downing Georgia Tech’s Zach Rach in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 in Sunday’s finals.
