Bradley Advances to Finals; Doubles Duo of Bradley/Banada win at the Wilson/ITA South Regional Championships

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – No. 2 ranked Megan Bradley advanced to the finals of the Wilson/ITA South Regional Championships Sunday afternoon on the campus of the University of Alabama. Miami’s doubles duo comprised of Bradley and Audrey Banada took home the doubles title.

Bradley defeated Florida’s Alex Liles 6-1, 6-4, before overtaking FSU’s Mihaela Moldovan, the fifth seed, 6-0, 6-2. Bradley will play No. three seed, Shadisha Robinson of the University of Georgia for the South Regional Championship title and an automatic bid to the ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships that will be held Nov. 4-7.

Bradley joined forces with Banada to defeat FIU’s Egle Pertrauskalte and Desanka Jovanivk 8-5 to reach the finals and then defeated Florida’s Lolita Frangulyan and Whitney Benik by default for the title and the automatic bid to the ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships.

Earlier in the day, junior Melissa Applebaum was defeated by MSU’s Tarryn Rudman 6-3, 7-6 in the quarter finals of the consolation “A” draw.

Bradley will play for the Wilson/ITA South Regional Championships singles title Monday morning.
