Greg Olsen recorded his first career touchdown reception in the first quarter, a nine-yard pass from Brock Berlin.
Freshman free safety Anthony Reddick and sophomore wide receiver Darnell Jenkins made the first starts of their respective careers tonight.
Olsen recorded 3 catches for 89 setting career-high…his previous high was 39 set this season versus Florida State.
Louisville’s scored on a one-yard run by Lionel Gates marking the first touchdown allowed by the Hurricanes in the first quarter this season.
The nine-play, 84-yard touchdown drive by Louisville in the first quarter marked the longest touchdown drive allowed by Miami this season…the previous longest TD drive was 10 plays for 72 yards by Houston.
Brock Berlin first quarter interception marked his first since the Louisiana Tech game on September 18…Berlin had attempted 56 consecutive passes without an interception.
Stefan LeFors’ 12-yard touchdown pass to Tiger Jones in the second quarter marked the first passing touchdown allowed by Miami this season. The Hurricanes had not allowed a passing touchdown since the second quarter of the 2004 FedEx Orange Bowl Classic, a span of 19 quarters and one overtime period.
Kevin Everett’s three catches are a career high.
Louisville’s 24-first half points is the most allowed by Miami since Nov. 28, 1998, when Syracuse scored 45 first half points at the Carrier Dome.
