CAREER: Talented tight end who figures to be a key component of the Miami attack this season…saw significant playing time in 2003 as the Hurricanes’ second tight end…has soft hands, good lateral speed and a keen knowledge of the game…has shown excellent blocking ability, displaying excellent technique…liberal arts major.

2003 (JUNIOR): Made nine catches for 90 yards and tied for the team lead with three touchdowns…started the first two games of his Miami career against Louisiana Tech and Florida in a multiple tight end formation…played in all 13 games, making four starts…made the first catch of his career against East Carolina for eight yards…hauled in a 20-yard reception against West Virginia…caught two passes for nine yards, including and three-yard touchdown catch (the first of his career) against Temple…added one catch for one yard against Tennessee…caught two touchdown passes against Rutgers, one for 17 yards and one for five yards…made one catch for 24 yards at Pittsburgh…made one catch for six yards against Florida State in the FedEx Orange Bowl Classic.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Kilgore (Texas)…outstanding pass receiver and all-around athlete…exceptionally quick and fast for a player of his size…in 2002, caught 18 passes for 310 yards (17.2 avg.) and two touchdowns with a long play of 40 yards for Kilgore Junior College…a First Team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection in 2001 and 2002…rated the No. 2 junior college player in the nation by Allen Wallace’s SuperPrep…coached by Jim Rieves.

HIGH SCHOOL: originally signed with Miami out of high school in February, 2001…excelled as a defensive end and tight end during his prep career at one of Texas’s most tradition-rich high school programs…was a two-year starter at Houston Jones High School at both defensive end and tight end…had more than 300 receiving yards each of his junior and senior seasons…posted 60 tackles and five quarterback sacks as a junior in 1999… earned All-State honors in Class 5A as a senior in 2000 with 49 solo tackles, eight tackles for losses and six quarterback sacks…also forced six fumbles, garnered four fumble recoveries, and blocked one kick…was a standout defender in one the talent-rich Golden Triangle Area…has been timed at 4.6 in the 40…originally chose Miami over Texas and Colorado…Houston Chronicle Texas Top 100…The Dallas Morning News Texas Top 100…Texas Football Top 20 tight end…rated the No. 28 overall prospect in Texas by SuperPrep…rated the fourth-best defensive line prospect in Texas by SuperPrep…member of the Dallas Morning News State Top 100…coached by Al Celaya.
