Men's Tennis Heads to Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championships

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Six members of the University of Miami men’s tennis team will head to Memphis, Tenn. to take part in the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championships held Oct. 14-18 at the Racquet Club of Memphis.
The tournament will begin Thursday with the singles qualifying round featuring 32 Division I players vying for eight spots in the main draw slated to begin Friday.
The Hurricanes’ Josh Cohen and Eric Hechtman lead the UM contingent. Cohen – ranked 76th in the nation in singles – is the No. 12 overall seed while 78th-ranked Hechtman drew the 14th seed.
Miami’s Tim Krebs, Ryan Waits and Vivek Subramanian also automatically qualified for the main draw while Neil Sehgal will take on Andrew Olswing of Memphis in Thursday’s qualifying round.
In doubles, the 59th-ranked tandem of Cohen and Hechtman will play as the No. 9 seed joined by teammates Subramanian and Waits.
