Cohen and Hechtman Head to 2004 Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championship

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Sophomore Josh Cohen and junior Eric Hechtman will represent the University of Miami at the 2004 Icy Hot/ITA Men’s All-American Championships with qualifying rounds beginning Monday morning at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Featuring over 350 individual players, the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championship is the largest collegiate tennis tournament and is also the first championship tournament of the NCAA Division I season.

Cohen will face Texas A&M’s Jerry Makowski in singles play while Hechtman squares off with Jordan Freitas of TCU. Both matches are slated for 9 a.m.

In doubles play, the Hurricane duo will take on Pepperdine’s Scott Doerner and Pedro Rico at 3 p.m.

Qualifying rounds of the tournament conclude Wednesday followed by the 64 individual and 32-doubles team main draw field beginning Oct. 7.
