Bradley, Mowery Win in Final Day of Gator Fall Classic

Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team concluded their first tournament of the fall season by winning two of five singles matches and two doubles matches at the Gator Fall Classic in Gainesville, Fla. Sunday afternoon.
In a rematch from 2004’s NCAA Singles Championship round of 16, senior Megan Bradley, who is ranked 2nd in the nation, defeated Florida’s Jennifer Magley(12), 7-5, 6-3. Bradley earned a 6-2, 7-5 win against Magley in NCAAs.
Sophomore Emily Mowery topped Florida’s Alex Liles 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).
The Hurricanes’ duo of Bradley and freshman Juliette Mavroleon overcame FSU’s Roxanne Clarke-Mihaela Moldovan(58) pairing, 8-3, while Junior Melissa Applebaum(121) and freshman Caren Seenauth defeated Lindsay Deason and Tapiwa Marobela from FSU 8-6.
The Hurricanes went 9-6 in singles and earned an even 4-4 record in doubles action.
Miami returns to action October 5-6th when they travel to Los Angeles, Calf. where they will play to qualify for the All-Ameircan Championships that will take place October 7-10th.
