Yaroshuk-Tews will coach the 2004 USA Tennis Collegiate Team

University of Miami women’s tennis head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews was selected to coach the 2004 USA Tennis Collegiate Team, administered by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The USA Tennis Collegiate Team is an elite training program funded by the USTA for the top American collegiate tennis players that began in 1996. This program is designed to provide players with valuable exposure to the USTA professional circuit in a team-oriented environment during these summer months.
Yaroshuk-Tews guided the Miami women’s tennis team to a 20-4 overall record and a National Ranking of No.15 last season. Miami made its ninth consecutive NCCA appearance and advanced to the quarterfinals. She is 51-18 overall at Miami and the same in her career record.
Yaroshuk-Tews was named BIG EAST Coach of the Year in two of her three seasons as head coach (2002 & 2004). The Hurricanes went undefeated at home this season posting a 14-0 mark in Coral Gables.
Twelve of the nation’s top men’s and women’s collegiate tennis players will compete for the 2004 USA Tennis Collegiate Team.
Highlighting this year’s team is Stanford’s Amber Liu of La Mesa, Calif., who won her second straight NCAA women’s singles title. Joining Liu are the following players: (women) Audra Falk of Vanderbilt (Cincinnati), Amanda Johnson of Duke (Bettendorf, Iowa), Raquel Kops-Jones of California (Fresno, Calif.), Jennifer Magley of Florida (Bradenton, Fla.) and Jessica Roland of Texas A&M (Hollywood, Calif.).
Past USA Tennis Collegiate Team members include current professionals James Blake, Bob and Mike Bryan, Bea Bielik, Ansley Cargill, Amer Delic, Laura Granville, Marissa Irvin, Alex Kim, Jeff Morrison and Brian Vahaly.
