No. 15 Miami Shuts Out Marquette

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The 15th ranked Miami women’s tennis team remains perfect at home this season at 10-0, shutting out Marquette 5-0 Friday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The Hurricanes improve to 12-2 overall, while the Golden Eagles fall to 3-10 on the season.
Only four singles matches were played as a result of two injured Marquette players. Miami swept through singles and also won the two doubles matches played.
No. 4 Megan Bradley (Columbia, Mo.) rolled past Veronica Briseno 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Staci Stevens (Hammond, La.) downed Dominika Dabrowski 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot.
Mari Toro (Miami, Fla.) also won in straight sets, beating Callan Smith 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Melissa Applebaum (Coral Gables, Fla.) rounded out singles play with a 6-5, 6-1 victory over Genevieve Charron.
The Hurricanes are back in action hosting UCF Saturday at 1 p.m.
