Hurricane Soccer Names Jeff Freeman Assistant Coach

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami, along with head soccer coach Tricia Taliaferro, announced the hiring of Jeff Freeman as assistant coach soccer coach Wednesday.
Freeman comes to Miami after spending the past four seasons with the as an assistant coach with the Southwest Missouri State women’s soccer team. Prior to being named assistant coach, Freeman served as a volunteer goalkeeper’s coach with SMS in 1998.
“Having the opportunity to coach at the University of Miami, along side with Coach Taliaferro is an exciting time,” Freeman said.
While at SWS, Freeman also coached the Springfield (Mo.) Premier Club team and was involved with various high schools during his coaching career, including serving as the Parkview High School boy’s varsity team head coach in 1999.
A native of Blue Spring, Mo., Freeman earned all-state honors as a goalkeeper for Blue Springs South High School before going to on to become a four-year letterwinner at SMS from 1994-97. Freeman graduated from SMS in 1999 and also holds an Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NCSAA).
