Men's Tennis Completes Day One Of The UM Fall Classic

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The University of Miami men’s tennis team won four singles matches and two doubles matches against NC State in day one of the UM Fall Classic.
Sophomore Eric Hechtman (Miami, Fla.) beat RJ Murray 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 1 singles spot, while newcomer Josh Cohen (Weston, Fla.) downed Val Banada 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
Tim Krebs (Eschborn, Germany) had a strong showing beating Will Shaw in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 singles. John Hoyes II (Miami, Fla.) also won in straight sets beating Jon Davis 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot.
Krebs teamed with Colin Purcell (Louisville, Ky.) to down Davis and Shaw 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Luis Manrique (Key Biscayne, Fla.) and Hoyes beat Dennis Myers and Conor Taylor 8-2 at the No. 3 spot.
Central Florida will face NC State Saturday at 10 a.m. before the Hurricanes face Alabama at 2 p.m.
