Women's Tennis Earns NCAA At-Large Bid

CORAL GABLES, Fla.- The 24th-ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team (16-6) will face 39th-ranked Purdue (13-11) in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Regional, May 9-11, in Lexington, Ky. hosted by the University of Kentucky.
Match times will be announced at a later date.
No. 12-ranked host-school Kentucky (21-7) will face Hampton (19-3) in the other first-round matchup. The winner of the UK/Hampton match will play the winner of the Miami/Purdue contest.
Miami, Kentucky and Purdue were all at-large selections while Hampton earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships as the tournament champion of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
The Hurricanes are making their ninth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament and their 17th overall since 1982.
This will be the first meeting between Miami and Purdue.
