Top-seeded Hurricanes Earn NCAA Automatic Bid

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The No. 1-seeded University of Miami men’s tennis team claimed the 2003 NCAA Automatic bid as play against No. 3-seeded Notre Dame was suspended due to bad weather at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Fla. Sunday afternoon.

The No. 1 seed, University of Miami, earns the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championship due to conference policy.

Miami advanced to the championship finals for the 11th consecutive season.

The Hurricanes beat No. 4-seed Rutgers 4-1 earlier in the day in the semifinals.

Miami advances to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh consecutive season beginning May 9-11.
